The Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the South Forsyth Rotary Club, will host the second annual Manufacturers of Distinction and Leadership (MODL) Awards. Lanier Technical College presents the MODL Awards. They serve as an opportunity to recognize the exceptional, local companies involved in the manufacturing, processing or distribution of tangible products. In addition, we celebrate the many contributions these companies provide to Forsyth County.
The 2017 manufacturers of the year included Metcam, Inc. (small), Solvay Advanced Polymers (medium), and Siemens Industry, Inc. (large). The Chamber then nominated these winners for consideration of the State Manufacturers of the Year Awards. Following that nomination, Governor Nathan Deal named Metcam as Georgia’s Small Manufacturer of the Year in April 2018.
“For an inaugural event last year, we knocked it out of the park,” said Robert Long, Vice President of Economic Development at the Chamber of Commerce. “To have one of our winners go on to win at the state level was fantastic, and Metcam’s recognition was well-deserved.”
Nominations for the 2018 MODL Awards are now open. The deadline for submission is November 14, 2018. Companies can nominate themselves. To obtain a nomination form please visit www.cummingforsythchamber.org or e-mail Director of Chamber Councils, Carlos Cantu at ccantu@cummingforsythchamber.org.
Finally, the MODL Awards Ceremony, where Award recipients will be announced and recognized, will be held on December 5, 2018, at the Forsyth Conference Center, located at 3410 Ronald Reagan Blvd. in Cumming. The event program will feature Thomas Martin with GLOBALT Investments as the keynote speaker. GLOBALT Investments has been a registered investment adviser since 1991 and is a division of Synovous Trust Company N.A. In addition to the MODL Awards, the three winners of the Forsyth County Schools’ Art Design Contest will be recognized at this event.
