According to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s 2019 County Health Rankings, Forsyth County has once again been named the healthiest county in Georgia. This is the seventh consecutive year that Forsyth County was awarded the top spot!
The County Health Rankings are based on a model of population health that emphasizes the many factors that can help make communities healthier places. They provide a revealing snapshot of how health is influenced by where people live, learn work and play.
Forsyth County ranked #1 in Health Outcomes, which includes measures of length of life and quality of life. In addition, the county ranked third in Health Factors. Forsyth County’s top health factors included health behaviors, social and economic factors like high graduation rate and low unemployment rate and crime rates.
In addition to Forsyth County’s award-winning parks, recreation opportunities are abound from Lake Lanier, Sawnee Mountain, and the Big Creek Greenway to the annual Boulder Dash 5k/10k, hosted by the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce and presented by Northside Hospital Forsyth and Martin Marietta Materials.
Since 1985 the Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Festival and Event Awards highlights programs around the Southeast. Boulder Dash is one of those programs for April of 2019.

Boulder Dash offers participants views of the working quarry face, ancient rock deposits, and massive equipment used to process, move and manage the rock. At the finish line, the Martin Marietta Spring Fling awaits, with lots of fun for racers and spectators alike.
