The Development Authority is especially interested in attracting businesses in the following Target Industries, as identified in the Economic Development Strategic Plan
Created for the purpose of developing and promoting for the public good and general welfare trade, commerce, industry and employment opportunities in Forsyth County, the Development Authority was created as a body upon the approval of the Development Authorities Law of 1969, Section 2. The Development Authority consists of seven (7) members, appointed by the Board of Commissioners, each of whom is a taxpayer of Forsyth County and none of whom is an officer or employee of Forsyth County. The Development Authority partners with Forward Forsyth, which serves as the designated single point of contact for economic development prospects interested in sites, relocations and expansions in Forsyth County. Together, the entities pool their resources to efficiently and effectively market the community, at economic investment levels.
