Forward Forsyth Names Interim Vice President of Economic Development

Forward Forsyth would like to welcome Mark Lytle, interim Vice President of Economic Development.

Mark has more than 40 years of combined industry and economic development experience building relationships at global, state and company levels. While at the Georgia Department of Economic Development, he served in various roles including Sr. Project Manager, Leader of the Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia Supplier Initiative, Director of International Investment/ Global Business Recruiting, and Program Director of the Georgia Centers of Innovation.

In 2013, Mark joined the Board of Regents- University System of Georgia (USG) as the Vice Chancellor for Economic Development. Prior to his retirement from the USG in 2017, Mark initiated the USG’s Cybersecurity and FinTech initiatives,  served on the board of Fin Tech Atlanta, was a founding board member of Ignite HQ (a business incubator accelerator) and was recognized with the 2016 Transaction Alley Citizen Award by the American Transaction Processors Coalition. Mark is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and a member of the Georgia Economic Developers Association.

Mark will serve Forward Forsyth by facilitating new product development, providing day-to-day leadership, guidance and mentoring to Forward Forsyth’s staff and enhancing the stability of the community’s ongoing economic development efforts while the organization executes an extensive search to find a seasoned professional to serve in this position in a permanent capacity.

In 2019, Forward Forsyth engaged in 88 economic development projects, contributing to the creation of nearly $115 million in new capital investment and more than 1,100 new local jobs.
